Following its strategic direction, Good Neighbors Mozambique (GNMOZ) works in partnership with the government and other partners to ensure that the Health of Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Cabo Delgado is protected.

 

Good Neighbors Mozambique has secured funds in partnership with its counterpart Good Neighbors Japan through Japan Platform JPF for a project called: Northern Mozambique humanitarian crisis response, by improving the deteriorating water sanitation environment through the construction of water sanitation facilities and the distribution of sanitary supplies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:Hygiene and sanitation Officer

Principal Location: Cabo Delgado

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with beneficiary communities on the promotion of good hygiene practices, menstrual hygiene management and sanitation;
  • Accompany the beneficiary community in training and strengthening paths;
  • Facilitate the organization of workshops and teach the community and in schools, play the role of facilitator when necessary;
  • Organize, support, supervise the quality and work of community facilitators/activists who will implement general hygiene promotion, menstrual hygiene management and sanitation activities in the community;
  • Compile activity reports;

 

 

To qualify you need

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Community Health, Community Development
  • Focusing on participatory community hygiene promotion (handwashing at critical times, water safety and storage chain, environmental sanitation and water-borne diseases) and menstrual hygiene management;
  • Minimum two (2) year work experience with an international NGO promoting hygiene,
  • Experience working in emergency programs.

 

 

LANGUAGES Required: Fluency in English, Portuguese and the local language (both spoken and written)
